A Bright Spot

We are committed to be open and honest on this journey, so here's a real and transparent update. Today SUCKED. From the morning when we woke up. Until the moment we went to bed. Except this one really BRIGHT spot in the day. But first, some background information. Nathan grew up a Cleveland Indians fan. His father is a Cleveland Indians fan. His grandfather was a Cleveland Indians fan. When we started dating, I had no loyalties, so I also became a Cleveland Indians fan. We've enjoyed Cleveland Indians/Guardians games in many places including Cleveland, Baltimore, Atlanta, Seattle, Minneapolis, Oakland, and Sacramento. (I may have missed a couple, but you get the point.) Over all the years we've watched (and Nathan has been watching many more years than I have), both of us have the same favorite player. José Ramírez. Knowing this, one of our friends decided to not only get Nathan a José Ramírez jersey, but he had it signed by José! (Thanks Scott!) What a kind and thoughtful gift. Today, in the midst of a no good, very bad day, a different friend brought the newly framed jersey to our house. ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL? (Shout out to Kent Reeves! If you need anything framed, he's absolutely your guy!) This beautiful gift came just at the perfect time. Galatians 4:4-5 says, 4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption as sons and daughters. At the perfect time, Jesus came into the world. Things were set up to not only see the prophecies about Jesus fulfilled, but there was peace in Rome. There was one main language. There was a road system that would facilitate the gospel "going out". It was all "at the right time". (Look it all up! It's fascinating!) Isn't God good to send us sweet gifts "at just the right time"? Just when we need them. Thank God for Jesus. But also, we can say thanks to God for all the little things. Today, we saw Jesus through a baseball jersey delivered in love. And it was perfect timing. Prayer Requests: *Nathan had to pause his cancer treatment for the time being because his numbers continue to decrease. (Specifically his neutrophil number is too low for now to proceed with treatment.) This is obviously discouraging. Please pray for mental/emotional/spiritual strength right now. This is a long road but we've already hit several potholes. The longer treatment is delayed, the longer this process takes. It's really hard to not have the energy to do anything and to constantly be in pain. It has gotten really old already. *Please pray that his numbers will come back up so treatment can begin again quickly. *It seems like Nathan may be getting another cold. PLEASE PRAY AGAINST THIS! The urgency is twofold. First, if he coughs, his ribs are in major pain. Second, if he gets any sort of infection, it could lead to hospitalization because his white blood cell count is so low. *Please pray for discernment for the doctors moving forward. The normal treatment plan is seemingly not working well, so we are praying that the doctors will figure out the next steps and it would lead to remission! Thank you for being here and faithfully praying for us! We are so grateful!
