Prayer Requests

Walking with God through Pain and Suffering
Nathan went in today and was supposed to start his new treatment regimen, but insurance hasn't approved it yet. It has been two weeks since he has gotten treatment. *PLEASE PRAY THAT INSURANCE WOULD APPROVE THIS NEW TREATMENT ASAP SO HE CAN GET TREATED THIS WEEK! Nathan went in and had bloodwork done on Friday because his hemoglobin was already low when then tested him at Stanford on Tuesday and sure enough, he had to have a blood transfusion. He had a transfusion on Sunday to prep and have good numbers for his treatment today. Unfortunately, when they ran his blood numbers, his white blood cell count and his neutrophils were extremely low. *PLEASE PRAY THAT THOSE NUMBERS WOULD INCREASE OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO SO HE CAN RECEIVE TREATMENT AS SOON AS IT IS APPROVED BY INSURANCE AND THAT NATHAN WOULDN'T GET ANY SORT OF SICKNESS OR INFECTION OR HE WILL END UP IN THE HOSPITAL AGAIN! Like I said in my last update, the Stanford doctor stressed that we CANNOT be pausing treatment for Nathan, so today was discouraging. Because the cancer is so aggressive, it multiplies and his cancer numbers go up when he is not being treated. *PLEASE PRAY AGAINST THIS! PRAY THAT THE CANCER WOULD STOP DIVIDING! Once treatment re-starts, our prayer is that his body would receive it and not have ANY negative responses and that this treatment would start to kill off TONS of the cancer proteins. *PLEASE PRAY THAT WITH US! Today there was a cancellation in the Radiation Oncology department, so we were able to have a consultation with a Radiation Oncologist 15 days early (YAY!). Nathan is going to get some radiation done on his ribs that are in a lot of pain. The doctor showed us the PET scan of his ribs and it basically looks like the myeloma has "eaten them away" in some of the pictures. *PLEASE PRAY THIS RADIATION WILL GIVE NATHAN PAIN RELIEF AND NOT CAUSE ANY OTHER ISSUES! The Radiation Oncologist also showed us Nathan's collapsed/fractured vertebrae, which explains the major back pain. He referred Nathan to an Interventional Radiologist to address his vertebrae fractures but we are hoping that kyphoplasty will be an option that will help Nathan. *PLEASE PRAY THAT THE INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGIST WILL HAVE DISCERNMENT ABOUT WHAT IS BEST TO DO FOR NATHAN'S VERTEBRAE AND THAT IT CAN BE DONE QUICKLY! WE ARE PRAYING THIS WILL BE ABLE TO "FIX" HIS VERTEBRAE AND THAT HE WON'T NEED BACK SURGERY OF ANY TYPE! Our end-game is getting to a stem cell transplant. *PLEASE PRAY THAT THE TREATMENT IS EFFECTIVE ENOUGH TO GET HIM TO A STEM CELL TRANSPLANT AND REMISSION! If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31 Thank you SO MUCH for all of your prayers, love, and support in SO MANY ways! We continue to be overwhelmed by all of it in the very best way! We love you all and are so blessed to have you walking this with us.
